SKIN INCISION BASED WOUNDS
A skin incision based wound is a type of wound that is created when the skin is cut or punctured. These types of wounds can be caused in a variety of way, such as surgery, accidents, or medical procedures. Skin incision based wounds can range in size and depth, and can be either superficial or deep.

KELOIDS
Keloids happen when there's overproduction of collagen. Some injuries will completely heal but scar tissue may continue to grow in the affected area. This can result in keloid scars on the healed area. Injuries or impacts to the skin such as burns, bad acne, piercings or tattoos can lead to keloids. Keloids can develop even 3 months after the skin has healed and can grow quite large, sometimes larger than the initial injury, if left untreated

RAISED SCARS
Raised scars are scars that are elevated above the surrounding skin. They can occur as a result of injury, surgery, or inflammation of the skin. Raised scars are often the result of excessive collagen production during the healing process, which can cause the scar to become raised and bumpy.

In some cases, scarring may be noticeable because it is raised or discolored, making it difficult to conceal. In these situations, Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape will help individuals discreetly cover their scars in order to feel more comfortable and confident in their appearance.

WHEN CAN I START USING MOTIVO SCAR CARE™ - SCAR TAPE?
Begin using Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape as soon as the wound has fully closed (e.g. skin is healed and there is no oozing, crusting or irritation in the area). Treatment with Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape for post-surgical scars may typically begin approximately 1 week after stitches or staples are removed or when cleared by your physician or surgeon for use.

For existing scars, as long as your skin is intact and no wounds or irritation is present, you may begin using Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape immediately.

HOW DO I CUT MOTIVO SCAR CARE™ - SCAR TAPE INTO SMALLER STRIPS?
Please only use the dispenser to cut the strip at the 10in perforated end. DO NOT use the dispenser to cut the tape to a smaller size. If you would like to cut the strip of tape smaller than 10in, please carefully use a scissor to cut the strip to your size of choice.

After cutting the tape to your desired length, be sure to cut the edges of the tape so that all of the corners of the strip are “rounded” edges.

HOW DO I APPLY MOTIVO SCAR CARE™ - SCAR TAPE WITH THE SCAR CREAM OR ROLLER SERUM?
All of Motivo Scar Care products provide their own individual benefits for helping to heal your scars. There is an added benefit in using them in combination with each other, this can be especially beneficial depending on where you're at in your scar healing journey.. the sooner the better.

When using our Scar Cream or Roller Serum in combination with our Scar Tape, please apply either the Scar Cream or Roller Serum to the skin first (Be sure to follow the instructions for application on these products as well) After the Scar Cream or Roller Serum have been applied, please allow 5-10 minutes for the solution to dry completely on your skin. Once dried, you can then apply our Scar Tape as instructed.

WHEN SHOULD MOTIVO SCAR CARE™ - SCAR TAPE BE REPLACED?
Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape can stay on for 3-5 days. If Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape is sticking and adherent to the skin, do not change it. If it becomes loose, replace it with a new piece and apply it according to our suggested guidelines.

After removing Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape please allow a 12-24 hour break before reapplying.

Certain applications or environments may require more frequent changes of Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape due to high mobility, cleansing routine, hair growth, humidity or oil level on the skin.

CAN I SWIM, SHOWER OR EXERCISE WITH MOTIVO SCAR CARE™ - SCAR TAPE ON?
Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape is water-resistant and breathable and can remain in place during exposure to water, such as showering and sweating. Please be sure to apply correctly before exposing the tape to water. Please note that Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape is NOT water-proof, only water-resistant, prolonged exposure to water such as swimming may cause the adhesive to loss strength.

DOES MOTIVO SCAR CARE™ - SCAR TAPE HAVE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
In general, no – in rare cases and for individuals with sensitive skin, Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape may cause some itch and redness. Because our tape does not contain medication, we do not expect side-effects for most people. Individual results may vary. If you experience any kind of skin irritation, please immediately stop using Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape!

CAN MOTIVO SCAR CARE™ - SCAR TAPE BE USED ON SCARS THAT ARE DIFFERENT SHAPES AND SIZES?
Yes, Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape can be used to treat scars of various shapes and sizes. Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape Scar Strips may be trimmed for smaller scars or worn side-by-side for larger scars. The sheets should extend beyond the scar area on all sides by at least 1/2in.

WHAT TYPE OF SCARS DOES MOTIVO SCAR CARE™ - SCAR TAPE WORK ON?
Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape can be used to prevent and minimize the appearance of hypertrophic (raised, red) scars and keloids. It can be used on scars resulting from surgical and cosmetic procedures, trauma, wounds, and burns, and it can be effective on old or new scars. Motivo Scar Care™ - Scar Tape also reduces redness, itching and discomfort associated with scars. Individual results may vary.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE IMPROVEMENT ON MY SCARS?
Treatment duration will vary per individual and depending upon the type of scar, as well as many other factors. Initial results can be seen in as early as 4 weeks, with full results visible after 1 year. People heal at different rates, so for some people, it may take longer than others to see results. Larger and older scars may take longer, therefore continued use is recommended if the scar continues to improve after the initial 90 days. Individual results will vary.

HOW DO I APPLY MOTIVO SCAR CARE™ - SCAR TAPE?
Ensure skin is dry and free from oils, locations and hair. Do not touch adhesive with your fingers. Gently rub the tape after applying to activate the adhesive. You can shower/bathe as usual. Carefully dab off any remaining dampness from tape using a towel.

Test a small piece of tape on your skin prior to usage, if irritation or itching occurs, remove the tape immediately. Do not expose tape to any kind of water or moisture until the product has been applied for 30 minutes.
